Weather and Safety
Diné College is located at 7,000 feet elevation at the foot of the Chuska Mountains. Sunscreen, a hat, and something to cover arms and legs are recommended during the day for protection from the sun and intense UV radiation (because of the altitude); bring jackets and sweaters for the cool nights. Bring a bottle for water and make efforts to stay hydrated. Temperatures in June may reach into the 90’s. At times we can experience wind and dust. Wear good shoes. Ask your doctor if you have health concerns with being in a high elevation with hot dry conditions.
